Nine Type of grains are planted in the soil. Sprouting worships ( Ankurarpana Puja) comes to an end with this. Thereafter, the head priest hoists the Garuda flag on the Dhvajastambham in a ritual known as Dhvajaarohanam.

Every morning & evening the Gorgeously bejeweled Utsava Murtis of Venkatesha, Sridevi & Bhudevi are taken out in procession through the streets around the Temple and then bathed in Herbal water ( snapanam Thirumanjanam). The vehicles (Vahanas) which carry the Utsava Murthis every morning & evening for 10 days are Pedda Sesha, Chinna Sesha, Hamsa, Simha, Mutyala Pandiri, Kalpa Vruksha, Sarva Bhoopala, Punya koti, Garuda, Hanuman, Elephant, Surya Prabha, Chandra prabha, Ashwa, Ivory palanquin, & Tiruchi (Palanquin).

When sage Agastya came here with his disciples, the toad took the Gandharva form and hence the pond was known as Tumburu Theertham.

Vaikuntha Theertham

Vaikuntha Theertham is located towards the north east of the main shrine of Lord Venkateswara. This holy theertham is associated with the Lord Vishnu’s incarnation as Lord Rama. KOIL ALWAR TIRUMANJANAM

Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam is a purificatory ceremony that takes place in the temple including Sanctum Sanctorum. It is performed four times a year-before Ugadi, Anivara Athanam, the annual Brahmotsavam and Vaikunta Ekadasi (on Tuesday only). After the first bell the smaller idols and other articles including the Akhanda Dipams are shifted to the antechamber. The garbhagriha is then cleaned and a ground paste of Kumkum, camphor and sandalwood is applied on the walls and later its walls are wiped clean after a while with water. The water-proof covering is removed and laghu Tirumanjanam is given to the main Lord and Bhoga Srinivasa. Food is then offered to the Lord during the second bell.
